2004 ODEBOLT CREEK DAYS PARADE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Rose Schultz, co-chair of the Creek Days Parade sent in news on this year's parade. Although entries are not judged, there was a very good turnout with approximately 175 entries.  The parade  lasted for an hour and ten minutes.
     The parade was organized as "first come, next-in-line" and organizers picked up entry forms before the parade with information about each entry for the MC's. Serving as Grand Marshal was Pastor Charles Bulger of First Presbyterian Church in Odebolt, with his wife, Georgia.
     Among the many entries were a Vietnam War float, an Operation Iraqi Freedom float with returned servicemen riding on it, and Chamber of Commerce floats from Schaller, Storm Lake, Early, Newell, Wall Lake, Lake View and Odebolt. The Abu Bekr Shriners from Sioux City delighted the crowd with their Mini Indys, ATV's and Flying Carpets, and the Condors Drum Corps were present from Omaha, NE. Also marching was the Odebolt-Arthur High School Band under the direction of Barbara Votrobeck. Hattie Grace Boarding House's entry was a bed piled with children.
Thanks for your part in Creek Days!
*** The ODC would like to thank everyone who made this year's Creek Days a success.  Thanks to all who volunteered to work; to those who generously contributed money; to those who loaned us equipment, picnic tables, and bleachers; to the fire department, ambulance crew, and police department for all their help; to the City of Odebolt for their support and cooperation; to the Odebolt Community Center board for use of the beautiful facilities.  Our subcommittees deserve a very special thank you; they make Creek Days possible.  Also, our hats are off to the people who stood in the rain and hauled the band's equipment inside to make sure the show could go on Saturday night.  Finally, thanks to everyone who attended; we hope to see you all back next year!
 - The Odebolt Development Corporation
***A special thank you to everyone who helped prepare, set up, grill, serve and clean up at the Creek Days Demo Derby food stand.  A special thank you to Keith and Gary Siebrecht for the donation of a hog.
WASHER TOURNAMENT
The Chamber of Commerce hosts a washer tournament during Creek Days. A washer tournament is like horseshoes, but instead of using horseshoes you use washers. There are five divisions; Elementary, Middle school, High school, Adult, and Co-Ed. Teams consist of either 1 or 2 people.  Fun for all!!
