Established 1877
The Chronicle is published weekly, with new
editions coming out on Thursday of each week. The Chronicle
operates in three offices, in Odebolt, Wall Lake and Early.
HISTORY
The Odebolt Chronicle, established in 1887 by
William E. Hamilton, has evolved over the years from being
Odebolt's primary newspaper, to serving a wider scope in Sac County as
The Chronicle.
Long-time Odebolt Chronicle publisher and
commercial printer Robert Miller, who purchased the business from the
Paul Wagner family in 1974, combined The Early News and The Wall Lake Blade over the years of
1979 to 1997 to create one weekly newspaper. The newspaper changed
to the name The Chronicle, and has been serving the Odebolt, Early and Wall Lake communities since 1997. In 1998
Miller sold the business to Jerry D. Wiseman of Armstrong, Iowa, who is
the present owner.
COVERAGE
In addition to reporting community news from the
Odebolt, Wall Lake and Early areas, The Chronicle publishes the
news of the Odebolt-Arthur, Wall Lake View Auburn, and Schaller/Crestland
Community School Districts. It also covers a wide variety of news
from Sac County including Courthouse News, County Supervisor Minutes,
County Sheriff Reports, Church Services, Legal Notices, Classifieds, and
a Business & Professional Directory.

DEADLINES, POLICIES
Chronicle Deadlines, Policies - The
Chronicle has an email address that should be used for obituaries, for
organization or club minutes, school board or city council minutes, or any
other legal publication. Items sent in this manner can be easily
formatted for the paper, saving valuable time since re-setting the copy
would not be required.
Photos for engagements, weddings, anniversaries, etc. can
also be emailed to the paper. Please leave the formatting to us!
(Send pictures in jpg or tiff format) To request a photographer,
please allow 48 hours notice.
