"When a store has gained such a loyal
following through the years, like Jim's TV & Appliance has
since 1958, then you just got to know that the merchandise
they carry and the service they give is what has made their
reputation." (Good Neighbor Review)

A family business ...
|
Karen "the boss" Wareham, Jim's wife, is the
office manager. She grew up in Kiron, Iowa and graduated
from Denison High School. Karen started working in the
office after marriage and raising the children. The
Warehams' three children are Curt, in business with his parents in
Odebolt; Tracy who lives in Euless, Texas; Debbie in Fort Worth,
Texas; and Lisa in Emmetsburg, Iowa. The Warehams have 10
grandchildren.
Curt Wareham, general manager of the business,
says he has always helped in the shop, as a youth and through high
school. Curt graduated from Odebolt-Arthur High School and
continued his education at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake,
Iowa. After college graduation he worked in Des Moines at
DSI Distributing for a time. In 1992 he returned home to
Odebolt and joined the family business. Jim and Karen say
that Curt is excellent with electronics and added a new dimension
to the business. Curt and his wife Vonnie have 3 children.
They have remodeled the rooms above the shop into an apartment and
enjoy living "downtown". Curt's hobbies are photography and
Odebolt history. He has generously shared both with odebolt.net and also
The Odebolt History Pages.
Josh Loger, Service Manager at Jim's TV, is
also an Odebolt native. He graduated from Odebolt-Arthur
High School in 1996 and has been with Jim's TV for 8 years.
Josh is giving up his "confirmed bachelor" status and will be
married in November 2006. |
