The Downtown Greenspace Project

This project made a small park downtown where several old buildings had been razed.

THE VISIONING PROCESS WE'VE BEEN THROUGH

In 2008 Odebolt took part in the Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program, sponsored by the Iowa Department of Transportation in partnership with Iowa State University Extension Landscape Architecture and Trees Forever.  After the Visioning process was completed, the Odebolt Betterment Committee was organized to implement parts of the resulting plans.

Some of the areas that have been addressed in these plans include enhancements to several areas on Highway 175 to improve the view as travelers drive to Odebolt. Other plans address the downtown area, the Monument Circle Park and trail system.

Below are a few examples of possible landscaping and configuration of directional signs that were presented during the "Visioning" process.   Keep in mind that these are conceptual designs and not all will be implemented!
